Have you dreamed of attending Duke University, with its unparalleled academics and its
stunningly beautiful campus? Join us this summer as an International Summer Scholar,
where we invite visiting students who are enrolled in an accredited university to prepare for
graduate study in the U.S. while earning credit in an academically challenging environment.
As an International Summer Scholar, you will:
· Explore your academic interests with insight from your international peers.
· Focus on intense subjects and lively discussions in a relaxed global environment.
· Immerse yourself in a college campus bursting with diverse cultural experiences.
Enroll in the Term 2 four-week Intensive experience, held July 1 – July 25, and complete one
class for academic credit. Or, attend the six-week Traditional term, held July 1 – August 11,
and enroll in two classes where you may earn academic credit for one class and audit one
class or elect to receive academic credit for both classes.
Special workshops will be offered for international students. Topics covered will include career
services, the graduate admissions process, and information about academic classroom
culture. You will also hone your language and communication skills, learn tips for thriving in
graduate studies, improve your intercultural awareness, and gain a better understanding for
American culture.
Seats are filling quickly, so apply now! We strongly recommend you check with your academic
advisor or your institution’s registrar if you wish to transfer credit back to your home college
or university.
